Andrew {3 Years Old!}

My sweet little boy is three years old today! He is my all boy, tough little love, and has such a great/lovable personality! He is still the tough-love-charge-you-you-to-hug-you as he always been but is so encouraging and sweet now that he is talking. It definitely took him longer to get talking than Evelyn but he is really taking off now (which I mentioned a couple posts back). I love hearing the conversations between him and Evelyn and watching all three of them play together. We'll be doing something (like coloring for example) and Andrew will go around saying, "good job Na-Na!" (which Na-Na is what he calls Evelyn and now Elizabeth calls her that too) and "good job mom!" I love it.

Andrew is really getting more coordinated in the outdoor/sports stuff...we've had a "balance bike" for awhile now and he cruises around on that so well now! I think he'll be riding a bike without training wheels before Evelyn does ;) (She still would rather ride her scooter than bike). He loves playing ball and going out to "dribble" the basketball with Mark and is getting really good at it. He's also getting good at kicking a soccer ball around.

His main love is still all things cars, trucks, and trains and we got him a new train track set for his birthday so we can do cooler tracks for him. He has quite a few truck/car/train books that he loves and will sit and look at them at night before falling asleep. It's pretty cute. We are still working on him going to bed on his own but he's getting better. Unfortunately he's pretty much over taking a nap any more :( :( :( so we are also working on him having "quiet time" instead. He's catching on to that a little now so hopefully soon he'll be ok staying in his room for quiet time. Momma needs her quiet time too! :)

One of the biggest advancements of our little guy lately is he's almost fully potty trained! I've been reluctantly working on doing this all summer since he has to be potty trained before he starts his school in September. So we've been trying to warm him up to the idea and the teacher at his "guarderia" has been trying and every day she would just shrug her shoulders up and basically say- he won't go! And I'd be like, I know! He absolutely did not want anything to do with the toilet or getting rid of diapers or any of it. So one weekend we were finally like, ok, we've got to do this for real. We'd tried bribing him with treats and stuff and finally found a Thomas train to bribe him with so after seeing it for a couple weeks and not being able to open it he finally gave in and went pee, got his train and ever since has been doing great! Even when he's wearing a pull-up before bed or going out to the store, he'll still tell us he needs to pee and will go on the potty instead. We are still working on #2 in the potty but that seems to always take longer. But overall he's been doing great! He just had to have it click I guess and off he went.

Let's see...Andrew and Elizabeth are pretty fun to watch and are definitely gonna be thick as thieves growing up together. They're already aiding each other in getting into mischief but are so cute together! Elizabeth adores him and now that she's older and can play and tag along with him, he's enjoying having a play buddy that's not older than him ;) He is getting better at sharing with her - except his trains and cars and unfortunately he has taught her a few words we could have gotten by without her learning yet...they will fight over cars and go back and forth saying "mine! mine!" So much fun right there....and now that he's been potty training she has learned "poop" pretty quick ;) It sounds pretty darn cute coming from her though ;)

I love the new stuff he's been learning lately...I have noticed him singing along with songs now or singing on his own. I've also been hearing him speak a little more in Spanish lately too...he was counting his cars in Spanish the other day and it was so cute! He tends to jump to "cinco" though, which is his favorite number I guess ;) He likes to do puzzles now and draw/color more. He loves play-doh. His favorite shows are Chuggington, Thomas the Train, and Blaze (monster truck show), He likes Dora too (we have it on our Spanish TV channels so it's all Spanish ;) but he pronounces her name "Gora" :) He has the saddest sad face in the world and has an adorably sweet, happy smile. He has little dimples that are too cute and is starting to "play" us with his cuteness when he's trying to get something from us. He's super thoughtful and when he comes to beg a snack from me, he always asks to get one for Evelyn and Elizabeth too. He gets SO excited about things and is just such a happy little guy! He loves school and is getting so independent- he puts his own shoes on all by himself now and is so proud of himself. He's still my solid, big guy and is bigger than most kids his age ;) He loves to help me or Mark and is always asking to help me in the kitchen or when around the house.

Overall he's a pretty content, happy little guy...a bit of a homebody and had a hard time adjusting to our big move to Spain but he's doing so much better now that we are settled...he's hit a bit of the "terrible threes" the past month or so which hasn't been the funnest thing ever and can be stubborn over some things (like right now he HATES us brushing his teeth and clenches his mouth closed...super fun). But he's such a fun little guy and I'm so blessed to be his momma! I love my one and only boy!

Here's the three year old pics I took of my little guy! He's so handsome!
