Evelyn's 7th Birthday!

My baby is now SEVEN years old! Turning 17 :( :( :( Today she was looking at a toy catalog for Christmas and was stuck on the make-up page saying that's what she wanted for Christmas, I was like....ummmm, no. She got all heated and went on saying that's ALL she wanted and she's wanted it for YEARS now and I never let her and I'm treating her like she's FOUR. Oh my goodness guys...Pray for me when she does hit the pre/teens :) :) :)

It is a bit weird though to have such a "big" kid now! Sometimes I don't know what to do with myself or her! :) By the time my sisters kids got into the big kid stage they already had another baby for me to keep busy with :) :) :) Evelyn is such a sweet girl though, fiesty as she was from day 1 still, but pretty sweet. She's such a smart little thing too! I'm so proud of her and the progress she has made in Spanish school here. It's amazing how quickly these kids pick up the language! I love hearing Evelyn speak to anyone in Spanish. It's so adorable. She's doing super well with her reading too, both in English and Spanish, her math is doing great....they do a LOT of math work here. She is still super creative...always making something in her room. She still loves doing stuff with paper and tape but this year my kids have gotten into Legos...I held off as long as I could but they all love them and it keeps them busy! Evelyn is super creative with the things she builds...I like to get the basic boxes of legos so she can design and build whatever she wants and she does! Her room is filled with her creations. She loves to design "clothes" too...I've found some design books where they have a girl and you can draw the clothes she's wearing...she loves it.

Evelyn is a pretty emotional little thing though too....she could stub her toe and her reaction is almost like she's dying...super super fun ;) She's very much a first child too...bossy, take charge little girl. She doesn't like to be teased, which her dad hasn't seemed to learn yet ;) She takes things so literally, she doesn't always get when he's teasing her. She's very energetic and can't keep still for the life of her. She's pretty funny with her likes and dislikes of food too...her favorite thing to eat potstickers...she loves onions and misses having onion rings. She likes steak and begs to get it when we get out...expensive taste this one ;) She loves to "cook". She loves to write and is always making lists of things. Her spelling could use some work though ;) She wants to write things like she would in Spanish, but that doesn't always work for English ;)

Her favorite place is Paris, she wants to go back already. She also wants to go to London to see Big Ben. She's getting a little spoiled in our travels. Her favorite thing to collect on our travels is snow globes (although some of them have already been broken).

She still is in Flamenco dance class, which I looove. Elizabeth is so jealous and wants to go so bad!!! She's too young though :(

For her birthday, we had some of her friends over, they all played, did a fashion show for us, ate cake, opened presents, and then played with said presents (mostly a HUGE box of Legos....best idea ever btw- get them a huge box of Legos and then let them all play!). Fun day for all!

we did a little something different for her birthday pics and did a mermaid session :) :) :)

September 2016

After our Tarifa outing, the kids started the new school year! Elizabeth is still going to the guarderia, she can't go to the big school til she's 3. She and her little bestie, Scarlet go together though and they are so darn adorable!!! Scarlet's big brother, Dalton, is Andrew's best friend. They are in the same class together (they were together last year too). Consequently....their momma is one of my best friends here ;) Works out well :) :) :) Anyway, Andrew is in the Cuatro Anos class. Evelyn is now in 2nd grade....so crazy!!! But she is doing so well! Andrew and Lizzie rarely speak Spanish so I can't tell how well they are doing but Evelyn is doing so great. I love hearing her speak to people in Spanish. It's so adorable and awesome :)

The first day of school WORE them all out! Although Elizabeth is totally faking here...she is the funniest little thing at faking sleep!

They all had dental check ups the first day of school too....they did so good! especially Elizabeth! She is like an angel for the dentist...it's kinda funny. The pediatric dentist here is amazing though- so nice and sweet! They do a great job with the kids.

September is one of my favorite times of year...it was still fairly warm this year for September but finally started to get more pleasant than August was. September/October are just gorgeous though...beautiful, beautiful days of blue skies and fluffy clouds. The sunsets are GORGEOUS...it's still light out fairly late but not tooo late. I love it :) I also love that no matter what time of year it is here, there is always something pretty growing! Always flowers or pretty fields...September had the cotton fields blooming, which I loooove!

A few random pics from my phone :)

Lizzie and Scarlet! I got them these matching shirts :)

little stinker won't take naps anymore but will fall asleep in the car....and no he won't stay like that when we get home :(
September was Mark's birthday!
I got these Mermaid tails to take pics of the girls in...they looooove them.

as you can tell from Elizabeth's reaction after I took it off :) she was so mad!
Oh, back tracking here but I am too lazy to go back and add this to the ones I've already done :) In July Dalton and Scarlet had a combined birthday party at a local horse stable where they take riding lessons. The owner, Jesus, puts on quite the party for the kiddos...carriage rides, pony rides, horse rides, donkey races, sack races, water balloon fights, a pinata....it was pretty amazing!!!! The kids had so much fun!!!! Such a fun day :) We are so blessed to have met such amazing people here! As seriously amazing as Spain and Europe is, it would pretty much suck if you had no friends. This fam is pretty awesome and we will be so sad when the day comes to leave!
