"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time."

While I haven't been up to as many "projects" as I have been in the past, I have done a few since the last time I posted about any...which was a loooong time ago :) I think around Christmas :) SO here's what I've been up too.

I made this bow tie onesie for a friend on my street who just had a little boy. It's a fun/quick little gift and so cute for little boys! :)

This is a little dress I made for Evelyn, cute basic/comfy :)

And this is a cute little bag that I made to put this in....

a cart cover! :) It's reversible and the other side is the same fabric as the  bag.

This next project I really liked initially but am not liking it as much  in use....

It looks great right here but after some use the straps keep coming loose from the rings and then the weight of her books/etc pull it forward. So I'm going to redo the straps somehow and see how it works. I love the organization of it and that it keeps things off the floor for Evelyn though.

This dress I made as a pre-quel to the flower girl dress I'm making next. I wanted to try the pattern out first to make sure I did the right size/we liked it and I looove it!

The final product is going to be white the navy blue details.  I'm also going to make a petticoat to go underneath to keep it full :)

she's going to be the cutest flower girl ever!

my pretty little princess singing her princess song :)

and this is my February/Valentine Day entry decor :)

I love the coral/ish pink and turquoise!

I feel like I've done more but I guess that's all the craftiness I've done...although I have done a little different type of craftiness which is probably why I feel like I've done more :) Along with my Young Women's calling keeping me busy, I've done a bit of "printables" designs to go with my lessons and to decorate the YW room. So here's a few cute things I've come up with for the girls!

Each month there's a "theme" for the lessons we teach on Sunday...January was about the Godhead

February...The Plan of Salvation....So when I started out in this calling I redid our bulletin board completely and added a calendar and each month I put up a new sign for the monthly theme. :) I know chalkboards are pretty "in" and popular but I really love them and they are so fun to make for posters! :)
I found a bunch of awesome "chalkboard font" lists through Pinterest and have had a lot of fun playing around with them! I especially love this quote from President Uchtdorf

I even found some colored chalkboard backgrounds to use :)

SO yeah! All that along with the pictures of my kiddos is what I've been up to on the crafty side of things! Oh! and I'm also helping my friend Morgan design/make her wedding invitations so that's been taking up some time too... :) Otherwise life has just been chugging along....Preschool/gymnastics/friends/playing has kept Evelyn busy...we've had lots of play dates with friends, which is great for both of us :) You already know what Andrew has been up to from two posts ago...Mark has been busy with work and playing with the kids and hanging out with me if the few minutes of the day that are left :) Luckily we have some great friends here and were actually able to go on a date a couple weekends ago. We had lunch and saw Les Mes, which was AMAZING. Then this Friday we are going out for dinner for my birthday! woot! :) And in a couple weeks we have our Seabee Ball which I'm so excited about! Evelyn and I found an awesome dress this weekend and I'm excited to dress up and go out for a fun night with some awesome friends! So that will be a fun post to share with you :)  I'm happy with myself for getting a couple posts out other than Andrew updates ;) next hopefully will be an Evelyn update since those haven't been very frequent :) So til next time!

"A lot of people like snow. I find it to be an unnecessary freezing of water."

Last Saturday Evelyn and I had a little Mommy/daughter date. We went to Wilmington, did a little shopping and I even found a dress for the Seabee Ball in March! It was a bit of a long morning/afternoon but Evelyn didn't do too bad (she's been a bit extra whiny lately....ugh...) and she really loved watching me play dress up at the dress store :) I'm super excited about the Ball! It's my first one :)

Anywho...we got home and were just hanging out, it started raining, and then I looked out and was like, what? Is that snow? and it was! Super wet, heavy snow, but snow none-the less. So Evelyn bundled up (it was SO COLD!) and we enjoyed the snow! As we were out there it got thicker and thicker and started to stick...I couldn't believe it really. Luckily it melted the next day so I didn't have to deal with it long but it was fun to have one snowfall for the kiddos! Anywho....here's some pics!

I just love this pic! Watching the first flakes fall :)

She was so excited!
Andrew's first snow!
Love this shot too...I sure do have the cutest kids! :)

Evelyn's bestie Maddie! They were so funny together!

Can't have a snowfall without catching 'em on your tongue! :)

Andrew {6 Months!}

That's right! My little boy is 6 months old! He has been such a joy and such a wonderful addition to our family. I just love him to bits! I love waking up to his happy, smiley little face and love how his little smile can just turn everything around. He is such a fun little guy and seriously just so adorable! I could go on and on and on about how utterly adorable he is but I'm sure you all would get tired of it. So I'll just update you on what he's been up too this past month!

Unfortunately this month I didn't keep quite as nice of a list going of what he's been up to so I only have a few things to share.

First off....he is becoming mobile! At first he was randomly rolling over from his tummy to back, then he added in some turning in circles while on his tummy, then he started moving backwards on his tummy, and then two weeks ago he rolled from his back to his tummy for the first time and hasn't stopped since! So he's rolling and scooting himself all over now. Although it's pretty funny...I've only ever seen him roll to the left...never to the right :)

Second...he's been eating more and more "real" food....mostly bananas cuz I usually have those available, and randomly some baby food. I need to up the frequency though cuz he's been wanting our food more and more. I have also recently started to give him the baby puffs on his tray, which keeps him busy and happy for a long while. He's getting a lot better at picking up the little puffs although still needs some work...for now it's just funny to watch :)

He's still fairly "talkative" and lately has started to "growl" at me...mostly when he's hungry and is trying to get my attention about it. :) He is also more frequently humming/singing to himself when he falls asleep which is pretty cute. He's got a pretty set schedule , which is nice, and pretty much always goes to bed around 8, with Evelyn. Unfortunately the past week he's started waking up earlier and earlier and the past couple days has woken up at 6am...no thank you! We're still working on sleeping through the night though..so far that's not going the best. Which is mainly because.....

Andrew has TWO teeth! He's been teething it seems like forever and it finally paid off! Not too happy about it really but I can't do much about it. Anyway....about 2 1/2 weeks ago he was chewing on my finger and I felt something sharp and there was the first little tooth! Then a week later #2 came through! SO that definitely messed with his sleeping. Then on top of the teeth coming in he had a cough for a couple weeks...nothing major but enough to bother his schedule a bit. It woulda gone away sooner if he hadn't been teething at the same time and had the runny nose from that. Ugh. Such joy! :)

Anyway...I guess another thing is he's starting to sit up by himself better but usually not very long...he still needs to work on balancing himself when he's reaching for things/when he gets excited...for now he pretty much always falls over :) Oh! and one good  thing about this month is he's finally over his dislike of the car! I knew switching him to the big car seat would help and it really has.

Oh again! :) I took the big boy to his 6 month check up on Monday. He is 28 inches long and weighs 19lbs 10oz. I can't remember/find what he weighed last month but I think it was 20. So either we were weighing him wrong or he's evened out a bit with his increased activity :) Either way he's a happy, healthy, adorable little boy!

Well that's all that I can remember for now. Here's the rest in pictures! :)

Sleeping babies are so sweet! :)

I think he was laughing at Evelyn but can't remember :)

gotta love the drool baby! :)

fresh clean baby!

more sleeping babies :)

working on sitting up

wearing a super adorable outfit my bestie bought for him! :)

Everytime he sits and plays in his high chair he sits like this...plays with his toys with  his right hand and then his left just hangs off the side. Random but funny :)

close up :)

He's also discovered he likes investigating things upside down :)

Love my kiddos!

They're so cute :)

Good morning world! :)

Enjoying some sunshine!

more sleeping....he was playing on the floor one night and just fell asleep! pretty funny :)

two teeth!

Happy boy playing in his exer-saucer!

I had to move it up to the highest level that day...he's getting so tall! And he really goes wild in this thing! Sometimes I'm afraid he's gonna tip it over

Going to pick up Evelyn from Preschool! (this is in the parking lot :)
so serious :)

See? arm hanging off again :)
Oh, well I guess I do have one other thing. For Valetine's/his 6 month mark we did a little photo shoot (of course :) and here's some pictures of my gorgeous kids! :)

The first one was showing off his cute Navy outfit again...love my little guy!

My sweet little girl!

And the second shoot :) Evelyn is such a little poser! :)

Love this face though!
And my little boy! I saw the kisses idea somewhere and loved it and have been waiting for Valentine's to do it! He's so adorable!

And there you go! A nice super long post filled with pics :) I do have some posts to do other than an Andrew monthly update but we'll see when I get them done! Life has been fairly busy :) Til then! love you all!
