Adventures in Spain with Carmen {Zoo de Castellar}

Guess I should get back to catching up :) One of the things we did before Carmen left was go to the Zoo de Castellar...it's about an hour and a half away and is an animal rescue center (a lot of animals are rescued from the black market or other places where they were mistreated or not cared for and they nurse them back to health here and take care of them). It's a really cool little zoo and probably the most interactive one I've been to! They have animals out in the open, a lot of baby ones too, (with trainers most of the time) and you can touch them and pet them...it's so cool!

This is a little baby Ocelot cat that was just chilling near the entrance

we went with a mom from school...her son is in andrew's class

petting a lemur :)

Lizzie and her little friend Scarlet

it was pretty dark in here but this is Carmen holding a pretty big snake...

around her neck :/

this was the cutest little monkey! he was totally mimicking Carmen

and he held her hand :) this little pipe/hole here where you can feed the monkeys and they put their hands in to get it

There was a bird area too...Carmen wanted to hold one of the parrots but they wouldn't go to her...someone else got to hold them though

this little bird loved me...it kept following me (scared Lizzie) and kept hanging out on my shoulder. it was pretty funny :)

feeding the lemurs :)

this white tiger was my fav...he was super playful and kept hiding and pouncing at us

holding a little monkey :)

and my second favorite...a baby white tiger! SO CUTE

he was kinda cranky though...
so they gave him a bottle and he calmed down :)

he was pretty cute :)
It was a lot of fun to go to and the kids keep asking to go back. :)
