Oh there's no place like home for the holidays!

Well I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas holiday! Ours was pretty low key/not much to talk about but I'll start with before first :) After we got back from Alabama we went and got our tree! The kids had fun picking one out and helping decorate...and overall Andrew didn't do too horrible with messing with it this past month. He liked going and taking ornaments off but didn't do it so excessive that I had to block him from the tree :) And they were just the cheap plastic balls anyway...I make sure to keep my nicer ornaments up top and only buy plastic! ;)

I did put out the kids felt tree but they didn't play with it too much.

She loves putting the star on top!

and the finished product! I love Christmas trees! So warm and inviting and lovely to sit by at night :)

Next up on the Christmas agenda was visiting Santa! He came to our Exchange store like last year but this year we didn't get the really good/real beard Santa...he stayed on main side base which I didn't know otherwise I woulda gone there! This one wasn't as personable either but oh well! Evelyn did good going up to him, although she almost always refuses to sit on their laps. And Andrew just didn't like him at all, like most kids his age! It didn't help that the two people in front of us both had younger kids than him and they both cried so Andrew was already a bit skeptical of the whole deal anyway :)

We went to a couple Christmas parties and here's some pics from my phone from them.

This was actually at a birthday party but it was funny so here it is....this kid LOVES ice! He was entertained by this ice bucket for like half an hour....

he would suck on it, throw it in the trash behind him and go back for more :)

My cute boy at Mark's work Christmas party.

They "farewelled" Mark since he's leaving the command soon...he got his plaque from the command in this pic

at a different work party :)

and Andrew with more ice!

seriously the best way to keep him entertained though and in one spot!

SO serious!

Santa at Mark's work party.

some decorations at the church party...I was in charge of that part :)

and seeing Santa at the Church Christmas Party! once again sooooo serious.... :)
Andrew wouldn't even look at Santa without freaking out :)

This was part of the "Progressive Christmas" we did with some friends of ours from church. We did a different thing at each house, this was at the house where the kids did a Nativity :)
Evelyn wanted to dress up as an angel :)

Andrew had some cat ears on :) for a second anyway...

One super fun thing we did this past month was watch Evelyn's first ballet recital! She was SO adorable in her little outfit and was SO CUTE up on stage! I know most of you saw the video on Facebook since I can't post here but here's her pics again :) She absolutely loves dance though and is pretty good at it I think! :) I can't wait for her recital in the Spring with her special costume! It's gonna be 10x cuter!

Evelyn and her bestie Ellie who are in class together! :)
Here's a few random pics from in between things...

Our Elf Tinker Bell showed up!

one of my more creative ideas this year....I didn't do too much, mostly cuz I'd forget and they'd be all last minute things!

This boy is gettin too smart for me! He see's Evelyn getting stuff off of counters and has learned from her to pull up footstools to get harder to reach things....he thinks he's so smart when he does it too and just looks at you like, look at me! :) what are you gonna do? :)

tired out!

All ready for church!

Unfortunately we all got sick this past week...Evelyn had a temperature on Friday but has overall been fine. I got a deep cough on Sunday night which changed and mixed up symptoms almost everyday....one day it added a headache and super tired, then the next a stuffed nose, and last a sore throat....I'm only just today starting to feel better...it was pretty sucky though! Andrew was sick Monday and Tuesday and then Mark started to get sick Wednesday and is slowly getting better....SO our Christmas holiday was very lowkey like I said :) We were all too sick to do anything!

He laid here on day for nearly 25 minutes watching Mickey....totally unheard of for him! :)

he is awfully snuggly when he's sick though!

Luckily they were both feeling better Christmas Eve and helped make cookies for Santa!

We didn't do too much Christmas Eve day since we were sick....sat around the house a lot, made cookies, watched Christmas movies, had hot chocolate, watched a little "Nativity" Bible Video the church put out, and then the kids opened their Christmas jammies and went to bed!

All ready for Christmas morning!

our yearly ornament ;)

Christmas Day wasn't too much different...just add opening presents and that's about it! :) The kids played with their toys all day, we watched movies, ate fried bread, although we did hold off on doing any special Christmas dinners til this weekend since neither Mark or I wanted to cook or eat a full meal :)

he got a little frustrated with unwrapping things :)

She's so funny opening presents! She thorough with the wrapping paper :)

Finding her doll house!

She was excited about it but said she didn't like the color...she wanted rainbow colors for her doll house...so picky!

eating fried bread! yum!

Andrew got a train set which they had fun playing with.

a solo shot of the doll house! It didn't turn out quite what I hoped but hopefully she plays with it and likes it. :)

and here's Evelyn later Christmas day! She might not have been outwardly showing any sickness but she did take a few naps this week...way ok with me! :)
So there's most of our holiday! We pretty much just stayed around the house, enjoyed some extra time with dad home, and some new toys! :) I did get around to finishing the baby quilt I started awhile back for our new wee one so that was exciting for me :)

And today since we were all feeling better we finally ventured out of the house! It was a beautiful day so we let the kids play at the park and got some ice cream afterwards :)

And that brings us up to date fully! :) except here'a couple belly pics for you...I swear I don't know where this kid is hanging out but I still don't feel very prego lookwise! I can still comfortably wear both my two favorite pairs of jeans...buttoned...and I'm 30 weeks prego as of yesterday! totally not complaining about that though but it is funny to see how pregnancies are different for you!

28 weeks

29 weeks

Anywho...really done now! Happy New Year!
