Since Mark and I didn't really do much to celebrate our anniversary or Mother's Day (for me anyway), we've been doing little things throughout the week. One day I made him a delightfully sweet card, which I put on his desk for when he got home along with some candy. He then had to go get his hair cut and came back with flowers for me (some fuchsia carnations with a fuchsia gerber daisy in the middle, so pretty!). Then one night we went out for ice cream, although we were both being indecisive and wanted different things so we went to Jamba Juice and got a smoothie and then to Cold Stone to get some delicious chocolaty goodness and had both. :) Yummy stuff. Another night we rented a movie and got a yummy sub and had that for dinner while we watched our movie.
The best day was on Thursday though. Mark had to go up one of the canyons to measure the flow of a stream for his hydrology (?) class so we decided to make a whole thing of it and ate dinner at a pretty park nearby, then took a couple walks through some paths up the canyons, and then we went to a park by the Provo River where we made a fire and had s'mores. It was pretty great and SO beautiful! The river made it so nice and cool and everything is still green and pretty (not for long though...ugh). It was just such a nice, relaxing time together and so fun! Unfortunately, soon it will be way too hot to go on nice hikes during the day and everything will be dried up and brown. So I'm glad we thought to do this now instead of later!!!
Here's some pics we took during our outing together.
